Monaca, Pa -- The Penn State Beaver basketball team took on the men of SUNY Delhi, losing a tough one by a score of 98-91.

The Penn State Beaver Basketball team came into their game against SUNY Delhi looking to bounce back from a tough loss against Apprentice their last time out. The team has been playing well as of late, but hasn't been able to pull it together consistently every night. They come into this game, looking to show that they deserve to be recognized as one of the best young teams in the PSUAC with a good win against another tough opponent.

The first half was a battle between the two squads, as both teams were scoring at will. It was neck-and-neck for most of the first half of play, with neither team pullng ahead for a big lead. SUNY Delhi had an obvious advantage in momentum for most of the first, as Beaver seemed to be playing keep up for a little bit. With a little over 5 minutes left in the first half of play, Beaver got hot and ended up taking the lead back, only to end the first half of play with a 47-47.

The second half of play turned out to be another battle, with both sides playing with a lot of intensity trying to take control of the game. SUNY Delhi ended up taking the lead at the start of the second half, and while the score was kept close by Beaver, Delhi hung on to their lead throughout. Beaver played hard, but the story of this game was the ability of Delhi to make their shots when they counted. In the end, Beaver walks away from this game with another loss by a final score of 98-91.

With Beaver's loss in this one, they now have a 6-7 overall record while sitting at 3-2 in conference play. The team played very well in this game against a good opponent in SUNY Delhi. The team was much better shooting in this game as there were multiple players who really contributed in this one. Senior Ignacio Alleyne (Stafford, VA / Colonial Forge) lead the team offensively with 20 points, while Freshman Dominique Stevenson (Rochester, NY / Ithaca) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The team will play next on Tuesday, January 10, at Kent State Tuscarawas. Game time is set for 7:30 pm.
