Greenville, Pa -- The Penn State Beaver men's soccer team faced off against Thiel College for another non-conference game this season. Beaver has been stellar in conference play this season, with only one loss, but have really struggled against non-conference opponents. Beaver comes into this game looking to change this pattern, and hopefully take home a good win late in the season.
The game didn't start off well for Beaver, as Thiel took a commanding 3-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of play. Beaver struggled to keep up with Thiel offensively, as they were out shot 22-4 in the first half. Thiel was able to score one more goal by the end of the half, as Beaver went into halftime with a score of 4-0. The second half didn't go much better for Beaver although they were able to slow down Thiel's offensive attack allowing only 5 shots to Beaver's 9 in the second half. But even this didn't matter as Thiel made the most of those shots, scoring twice, as Beaver couldn't score a single goal in this one, losing by a final score of 6-0.
Beaver took a hard loss in this game against a good non-conference opponent in Thiel College. The team now sits at 8-6 overall, with a 6-1 in conference record. Beaver will return to action on Saturday, October 15 against Penn State Worthington Scranton for their last home game of the regular season. Game time for this matchup is set for 4 pm, and Beaver will be having a lanyard giveaway for all fans who show up to this one.
