Monaca, PA -- Lady Lions Split Against Fayette

The Beaver Lady Lions faced off at home against Penn State Fayette Wednesday afternoon for a conference double header. The team went 1-1 for the day.

Game 1 went scoreless in the first, but Fayette and Beaver each gained a run in the second. Tara McFadden singled, gaining an RBI as Dina Cable ran home, tieing the game at 1. In the third, Cable singled with 2 RBIs, as Kayla Campbell and Jess Hughes each ran home. This gave Beaver a 3-1 lead. Fayette made a run at the top of the fourth, pushing the game to 3-2.

After a scoreless fifth and sixth, Fayette made a run in the seventh, tieing the game at 3. This pushed the game into an eighth inning, where Brittany Garza singled with an RBI, giving Beaver a 4-3 victory.

 

Game 2 proved to be difficult for both teams, as they each had trouble keeping loaded bases. The only run of the game came from Fayette at the top of third, as Fayette defeated Beaver 1-0.

Beaver is now 16-12 in their overall season and 11-5 in their conference games. They will travel to Penn State Du Bois on Saturday for a double header, the first of 4 weekend games between the teams.
