Du Bois, PA -- The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team traveled to Penn State Du Bois on Wednesday for their conference opener this season. Beaver comes into this game looking to take one from Du Bois and start their conference schedule with a win. Beaver has looked good at times this season but has struggled to play well consistently in the past few matches.

This game started off a little rocky for the Beaver girls, as they battled hard to win their first set. As the set went on Beaver found nice groove and ended up winning the set by a score of 25-20. The next set was even better for Beaver, as they played very well throughout the whole set. They ended up taking home the win in the second set with a score of 25-17. The third set showed just how well Beaver could play as they really got their game together against Du Bois. When the set was over Beaver had walked away with a clean sweep of Du Bois, taking home the set by a score of 25-10.

Beaver took home an impressive win in their conference opener as they now stand at 5-5 on the season with a 1-0 conference record. There were many standouts for Beaver today as Morgan Cannister had 8 kills and 7 digs along with a block, Amanda Mike had 9 kills, and Jenna Petrucci had 6 aces in the winning effort. As a whole, the Beaver girls had 28 team kills and 14 team aces as they played one of the most consistent games that they've played all season. Penn State Beaver will return home for their next match as they play a conference game against Penn State New Kensington on Saturday, September 7 at 1 pm.
