Tough Loss in Non-Conference Player for Beaver
Beaver losses to Ohio Dominican in Non-Conference play before Fall Break Begins.
Columbus, OH - Before the fall break really begins for the Penn State Beaver's Men's Basketball team they traveled to take on NCAA Division II, Ohio Dominican University. This game was a tough fight for Beaver and at the end of the day the team was unable to bring back a win to Beaver County. Third-year, Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) ended up scoring the first 5 points for Beaver scoring off a 3-point shot and helping the team by tipping-in a shot. Finishing out the half, Beaver was in a 22 point deficit and struggled coming out of halftime as well. Second-year, Jermaine Knaff (Quincy, IL) scored first for Beaver early in the second half off a 3-point shot. First-year, Joe Pinto (Kenilworth, NJ) scored off a layup which was then followed up by another Knaff 3-point shot. First-year, Dhamir Morfe-Chess (Teaneck, NJ) scored the teams final 2 points off a layup with 2 minutes left in the game. Though this was not the outcome the team was looking for today, the team got a good experience and this will help drive them forward for the rest of the season.
Third-year, Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) played a strong game scoring 12 points, with 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block.The second highest scorer for Beaver today was Second-year Jermaine Knaff (Quincy, IL) who scored 11 points, had 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. Fourth-year Matt Brown (Upland, CA) led the team with rebounds pulling down 4 today and scored 2 as well. Both First-Year player, Joe Pinto (Kenilworth, NJ) and Third-yea Teon Wynn Jr. (Cleveland, OH) had 4 points, while Pinto also had 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Beaver had 21 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block this game.
Penn State Beaver Men's Basketball is now 2-6 overall while being 1-1 in conference before the break. The team will take a short break for the holiday before they hit the road once again to continue the season. The Men's Basketball team will hit the road on Friday, December 6th to take on PSUAC competition, Penn State Lehigh Valley at 8pm.
