Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver outlasted Penn State Fayette 66–62 in overtime Monday night at the Beaver Fieldhouse in a back-and-forth matchup that was tight from the opening tip. Beaver carried a slim 31–30 lead into halftime, and neither side could create much separation through regulation as the game stayed within a couple possessions deep into the second half before heading to the extra period.
Ny'zir Dix set the tone as the primary engine on both ends, finishing with 20 points while also filling the box score with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Jabari Gayle provided a steady second scoring punch with 18 points and 8 rebounds, repeatedly getting to the line and helping Beaver survive key stretches when shots weren't falling. Jermaine Knaff added timely perimeter production with 15 points and three made threes, and Beaver's activity defensively showed up in 9 steals as they pressured ballhandlers and created extra chances in a game where possessions were at a premium.
In the overtime, Beaver's ability to generate offense at the stripe and get enough stops proved decisive, closing the door in an 11–7 extra session to secure the four-point win. The result reflected Beaver's balance—multiple double-figure scorers and playmaking across the lineup—along with just enough execution late to turn a one-point halftime edge into a hard-earned overtime victory. The team will take the court again on Thursday, February 12th at 6:00pm in Greater Allegheny. They will take on Penn State Greater Allegheny in another PSUAC match-up!
