Women’s Basketball Dominates in 98–28 Victory
The women’s basketball team delivered a dominant performance on the court, defeating their opponent 98–28 in a decisive victory marked by strong defense and balanced scoring.
Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver rolled past Penn State Schuylkill, 98–28, on January 16 at the Beaver Field House. Beaver set the tone immediately with relentless pressure, quick ball movement, and a deep rotation that kept the pace high from start to finish. The Lions' defense forced mistakes and turned them into easy points, while the offense consistently created open looks—especially from the perimeter—building a lead that was never in doubt. Beaver exploded out of the gate with a 33–4 opening period, overwhelming Schuylkill with speed in transition and active hands defensively. Beaver stayed aggressive in the second quarter and extended the margin. With the game well in hand Beaver finished strong with a 25–14 closing quarter, keeping the tempo up and closing the night with another efficient scoring burst.
Beaver's stat line reflected a complete team performance: Claudia Siegfried led the way with 24 points (including 8 three-pointers), while Bailey Rieg added 22 points and a team-high 5 steals. Ny'Ashia Barnes chipped in 11, and Beaver also got balanced contributions across the rotation, including 8 points from Jaden Tesch in limited minutes. Beaver's combination of defensive pressure, unselfish offense, and depth produced a wire-to-wire win and reinforced the team's strong form. Penn State Beaver rolled to a 98–28 win over Penn State Schuylkill on Thursday night at the Beaver Field House, using a blistering start to take control immediately. With the lopsided result, Beaver not only protected home court but also reinforced its position near the top of the standings by pairing high-level defensive intensity with unselfish offense. The fast start set the tone, and the depth of Beaver's rotation ensured the energy never dipped across four quarters. Beaver will look to carry that momentum forward as it continues conference play with a strong overall record and a clear identity built on pressure defense and balanced scoring.
